April Crews

At age 8 I won an award for best writer in a 4th grade story contest. I didn't realize at that age that writing was what I was born to do. Now that I've decided to stop being afraid of failure and rejection, I'm pursuing my dream of being a columnist and children's writer and looking for publishers for my children's books. I initially wanted to write only chick-lit or memoirs, but after being inspired by my wonderfully silly nieces and nephews I've written several children's books and have focused my efforts on finding a children's publisher for my books. A friend once told me that one of my children's poems sounded like a Dr. Seuss. book, and to be compared to such an amazing writer, makes me absolutely certain that this is what I was born to do.
